Privacy Policy
Effective October 19, 2026
Daily Dictate is a Chrome extension for voice typing made by Daily Architect Labs ("we"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it. In short: your voice and your text stay on your device, and we do not sell or share personal data. The only information that leaves your device is the Pro license check described below.
Your voice
Daily Dictate uses your microphone only after you start dictation by clicking its icon or pressing its keyboard shortcut, and Chrome asks for your permission the first time. Recording stops when you finish, when you cancel, or when the time limit is reached. The audio is kept in memory, turned into text by a speech model that runs inside Chrome on your computer, and then discarded. Audio is never saved to disk and never sent to us or to anyone else.
Your text
The transcribed text is inserted into the text box you chose. Daily Dictate does not keep a copy and does not send it anywhere. To decide whether a space is needed before the new text, it looks at the characters right next to your cursor in that text box; this also happens only on your device. Once the text is in a website's text box, that website's own privacy policy applies to it.
Speech model downloads
When you choose a speech model, Daily Dictate downloads the model files from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). As with any download, Hugging Face and its content delivery network can see your IP address and standard browser information. No audio, text or other personal information is included in these requests. The files are stored in Chrome's storage on your computer so Daily Dictate can work offline. The Hugging Face privacy policy applies to those downloads.
Optional AI punctuation polish
If you turn on "Polish punctuation with Chrome's built-in AI", your text is processed by Gemini Nano, a model built into Chrome that runs on your device. Chrome downloads that model from Google. Daily Dictate does not send your text to Google or to us.
Pro purchases and license checks
If you buy Pro, Dodo Payments, our merchant of record, processes the order. It collects your name, email address, billing country and payment details under the Dodo Payments privacy policy. We receive your name, email address and order details from Dodo Payments so we can provide support, refunds and your license. We never see your full card details.
When you activate a license key, Daily Dictate sends the key and a device label (for example "Chrome on Win32") to the Dodo Payments license server, which returns an activation ID. Every few days, while you are online, it sends the key and activation ID again to confirm the license is still valid. When you remove Pro from a browser, it sends them once more to free that activation. These requests contain no audio, text, browsing data or other personal information.
Settings stored on your device
Daily Dictate saves your preferences (model, language and clean-up options), the date it was installed, how many seconds you dictated today (for the free plan's daily limit) and, if you activate Pro, your license key and activation ID in Chrome's extension storage on your computer. Apart from the license check above, this information is not sent anywhere, and it is deleted when you remove the extension.
